Would you like to undergo illegal or 'immoral' marriage? Go to Bangalore on February 14

Report: We’ll not spare dating couples on Valentine’s Day: Muthalik

  • Report: At a press conference here on Thursday, Sri Ram Sene leader Pramod Muthalik, who is now on bail, said Sene activists across Karnataka would not only hold protests outside colleges, hostels and hotels, where Valentine’s Day celebrations are held, but also forcibly marry off couples found dating in public.
“Our activists will go around with a priest, a turmeric stub and a ‘mangal sutra’ on February 14. If we come across couples being together in public and expressing their love, we will take them to the nearest temple and conduct their marriage,” he said. If the couples resisted the move, the girl would be forced to tie a ‘rakhi’ to the boy.

What if the dating couple is non-hindu, who do not follow the 'mangal sutra' tradition in a temple?

What if a dating couple consists of

  • at least one person, who is (or both are) married to somebody else, and the spouse is alive or not divorced (extramarital affair)
  • at least on person who is (or both are) legally a minor(s)
  • extramartial affair between a married person and a person who is a minor
  • two gays
  • two lesbians

and yet do not oppose the forcible marriage? What are the legal implications?

What if a dating couple consists of

  • a man who is younger to the woman
  • man and woman do not belong to the same 'caste'
  • man and woman belong to the same 'caste', but belong to the same 'gotra'

and yet do not oppose the forcible marriage? What are the 'cultural' implications, as these marriages are not acceptible 'culturally'?

What if the dating couple is having legal as well as 'moral' rights for the marriage, but somehow the parents of couple do not agree for the marriage (for their own reasons)? What if the said couple do not oppose the forced marriage? A marriage without the approval of parents is also not in 'our culture' you know?
